He was a man of ex-emplary life and sterling character whohad at heart the cause of true religion andthe spread of Christian truth, and forfourteen j^ears he seived as treasurer ofthe Clark County Bible Society. EICKS, president and treas-urer of The Eeama Silver Plating Com-pany, at Springfield, has proven himself,during his residence here of thirty-threeyears, to be a citizen of public spirit andpersonal integrity. He was born at WestLiberty, Logan County, Ohio, in 1853, andremained there through a portion of hisperiod of education. Mr. Eicks was twenty-two years oldwhen he came to Springfield, in 1875, andentered into the service of the old C, C. Eailroad and Pennsylvania & Pan-handle Eailroad, and he continued in rail-road work for eight years. Followingthis he was connected with the SpringfieldMalleable Iron Company and other likeindustries, for about twenty years. OnJanuary 22, 1907, The Eeama Silver Plat-ing Company was organized and incor-porated, and of this Mr. Eicks becamepresident and treasurer, giving his mainattention to this busin
