A Russian bardiche,17th/18th century Long,gently curved axe blade with decorative perforations. Short,polygonal socket,with the lower end of the blade fastened to the shaft. Original polygonal hardwood shaft,with two movable suspension rings on the side. Length 147 cm. Two similar examples may be found in the collection at the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. Cf.
