Milky Way over Mount Huangshan. Arc of the Milky Way and a bright streaking meteor (upper right) in a panoramic view from Mount Huangshan, Anhui, China. The Milky Way is our galaxy seen from the inside, forming a band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. Known as the 'loveliest mountain of China', Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China's major tourist destinations. Photographed on 12 May 2016.
