Historical marker for the Dey Mansion in Wayne, , May 6, 2021. The mansion, which was built in the 1770s, was the home of Theunis and Hester Dey. During the Revolutionary War, Dey served as colonel of the Bergen County Militia. The mansion served as Gen. George Washington’s headquarters from July 1 - 29, 1780, and Oct, 8 to Nov. 27, 1780.
