Blue sky view, towards sea from wooden groyne foot of promenade steps, Mary's Shell standing beach sand, Cleveleys, Fylde Coast

Cleveleys Mythological Coastline Project includes four sculptures from the children's book, 'Sea Swallow', by Gareth Thompson and illustrated by Hannah Megee. The sculptures are part of the council's £20 million new promenade sea change project. Mary's Sea Shell (seen here) is a large metal sculpture on the beach, a short way north of a large stone sculpture of the Sea Ogre (end of boulder groyne left background). The 9m long Sea Ogre's Paddle is carved in hardwood and is located towards the northern end of the promenade, in front of Jubilee Leisure Park. The tall slim 'Sea Swallow sculpture that stands guard over the promenade at the end of Victoria Road West, Cleveleys' main shopping street. A view from the promenade, looking south west at low tide.
