The image is of the David and Sampson steam driven blowing engines that were used to provide compressed air to the adjacent iron smelting blast furnaces at Blist Hill Foundry [Victorian Town] as it was in 1900 when the English Queen, Queen Victoria was still alive. Blist Hill like lots of other heavy industries along the River Seven and Ironbridge Gorge made their prosperity from smelting and forging iron products
