Man- ager Charles Shellgrain reports business well up to normal. Peter Ferrari is bringing in some fine Eussell roses. The E W. McLellan Co. is beginning to cut new-crop Cecile Bruniier roses, which is earlier than usual. The man- agement hopes to have a fine crop tor Thanksgiving. Several large orders of chrvsauthemums were forwarded by this concern last week, which marked the beginning of the long-distance ship- ping season. Albert O. Stein, who operates the stand in the Palace hotel in conjunction with his large establishment on Sutter street, reports many table decorations at the hotel. , -.^, * W Onishi, of the United Flower & Supplv Co., calls attention to a shortage of box shooks here, which makes it rather difficult to get orders filled. Prices are higher than usual. He re- ports the chrysanthemum season start- ing off encouragingly. The early vari- eties have sold well locally and now good orders are coming in for long-dis- tance shipments. Golden Gate Florist is the name over a new store just opened on O'Farrell street, near Powell street It is under the management of Miss Julia Broberg, recently from New York state.
