The Goods Line, a linear park and pedestrian pathway in the Sydney suburb of Ultimo - the corridor connects Railway Square to Darling Harbour. The Goods Line uses the route of a former freight railway line that opened in 1855. The port facilities at Darling Harbour closed down and major development of the area just left a short section of the railway corridor disused. This section, between Railway Square and Ultimo Road, was converted to a pedestrian pathway called the Ultimo Pedestrian Network. It was renamed The Goods Line in 2012 and extended through to Hay Street in 2015. The Frank Gehry designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building (centre left) opened has its main entrance leading onto The Goods Line that same year. Linear parks like this have been heavily influenced by New York's 'High Line'.
