The McKccspoi-t Record, a \yeekl3 paper, was established byJohn B. Scott, the first issue appearing April 30th, 1,880. OnApril loth. 1882, the first issue of a daily edition was put on thestreet and was called The Record. Both daily andweekl) continued until September ist, 1884, when the weeklywas changed to the Paragon-Reco}d. under the management ofthe John B. Scott Printing Companw On May 23rd of thatyear the evening edition of the Record was changed to theAlonii/ig Paragon-Record. On June 8th, 1887, it passed intoother hands and finally ceased April ist, 1889. The Trilinie and Herald was published b} L. M. Armbrustabout 1885-87 but it couklnt stem the tide and was removed toGreensburg. The Daily News was established by Dravo Bros. & Clark Julyist, 1884.
