View NNW of Annait Early Christian monastic site which made use of an Iron Age fort on a steep-sided promontory (centre) formed by the meeting of 2 rivers above Loch Bay, Waternish, Isle of Skye. Monastic cells were inserted into the prehistoric stone rampart defending the neck of the promontory, more round cells (foreground) & a rectangular oratory or chapel (rear L) built inside the old fort.
