Duke Ernst August von Sachsen Weimar-Eisenach (1688 - 1748) - a pair of German flintlock pistols, circa 1740, Finely fluted at the breeches, decorated ornamentally in relief, chiselled, round and smooth barrels in 12 mm calibre. Slightly chiselled, formerly polished flintlocks. Carved walnut stocks with horn noses. High quality gilt bronze furniture with relief ornamentation, on either pommel cap the Saxon coat of arms with monogram "EA" surmounted by an eagle. Original wooden ramrods with horn tips.
