James Zuelow, both assigned to 297th Military Police Company of the Alaska Army National Guard, examines ancient artifacts in the Mongolian National Museum during a Morale, Welfare and Recreation trip as part of Khaan Quest 2016. The trip allowed service members participating in Khaan Quest 2016 to explore the city and engage in the local Mongolian culture. During the visit, the participants shopped in outlet stores and malls, visited museums and sampled local foods. Khaan Quest 2016 is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces, co-sponsored by Pacific Command, and supported by Army Pacific and Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s Global Peace Operations Initiative program. The exercise focuses on training activities to enhance international interoperability, develop peacekeeping capabilities, build to mil-to-mil relationships, and enhance military readiness.
