Spacer made from bobbin lace with volute motif on remains of linen bedding with work with pulled-out threads, Spacer made from natural-colored Dutch bobbin lace. The repetitive and symmetrical pattern consists of a volute motif that is alternately placed upside down. The motifs are made in linen with openwork edges and are connected to each other by a grid. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight and each is attached to a narrow strip of linen - hems - with a narrow edge work with pulled-out threads. On one long side a part of the work with pulled-out threads has disappeared

On one long side a part of the work with pulled-out threads has disappeared and the middle part is a separate hem where no traces of work with pulled-out threads can be seen. Each short side is stitched together to form a dot. It concerns the remains of bedding, probably a pillowcase. Possibly the lace is made in Flanders and the bedding is made in the Northern Netherlands., anonymous, Northern Netherlands (possibly), c. 1640 - c. 1660, linen (material), bobbin lace, l 62 cm × w 4 cm l 62 cm × w cm ×, cm
