Panorama of Thomond Bridge and King John's Castle seen over the River Shannon, Limerick, County Limerick, Eire (Ireland).


The Thomond Bridge (left) was built in 1836 by James Pain, replacing an earlier medieval one. Also seen over the River Shannon is St Munchin's Church (centre) of 1827, also by Pain. The Norman castle built in 1210, is located on the site of three Viking Age houses.
