Caddis larva UK


The case of a caddis larva, order Trichoptera, that the larva has made from pieces of water snail shell and grit in a river to conceal and protect itself using silk to bind the stones together before it emerges as a caddis fly. There are approaching 200 species of caddis fly in the UK. This case was found in the Dorset Stour River near Sturminster Newton Dorset England UK GB.
