Stomach cancer. Section through a stomach affected by linitis plastica, or Brinton's disease - a variant of diffuse stomach cancer. Diffuse stomach cancer is gives the stomach the appearance of a 'leather bottle', characterised by a thick, rigid stomach wall caused by diffuse infiltration of tumour cells and extensive fibrosis.
