Dish 17th century China A palette of richly colored transparent enamels dominated by shades of green, famille verte reached Europe at about the same time as the Japanese Imari and Kakiemon color schemes and was largely overshadowed by them. During the latter half of the seventeenth century this motif and color scheme were widely used on porcelains intended for both the local and export markets.
