He is abrilliant, able journalist, thorough in iletails andjudicious yet fearless in his opinions. In May,1886, he was appointed fire commissioner, byMayor OBrien, and reappointed in 1889 by MayorHart. He is now chairman of the board, and hisadministration has been characterized by efficiencyand fidelity to his duties. Mr. Fitch is a memberof the Boston Press Club and of the Papyrus Club. Fnz, Frank E., oldest son of Eustace and SarahJ. (Blanchard) Fitz, was born in Cambridge, Mass.,Nov. 14, 1857. He was educated in the publicschools of Chelsea and in Brown University, fromwhich he graduated in 1880.
