Rhamnus, Purshianus.—A handsome small tree or large shrub, witli large, bright green leaves, flowers in small clusters, greenish white; fruit the size of a small cherry, black and abundant. Service Tree—(Sorhus domestica)—Growth and foliage similar to the American Mountain Ash ; the fruit when mellowed by frost or keeping becomes brown, soft and edible, resembling a Medlar.
