Dorsal III 9, equally distant from nostrils and from root of caudal, border concave ; longest ray slightly longer than head. Anal III 5, not reaching caudal. Pectoral f length of head, not Fig. Labeo parvulus. Type (Ann. S. Afr. Mus.). reaching ventral; base of latter below anterior rays of dorsal. Caudal deeply forked, with acutely pointed lobes. Caudal peduncle 1^ times as long as deep. Scales 35 m, 3J between lateral line and ventral, 14 round caudal peduncle. Olive-brown, darker above than below ; a yellowish patch on occiput and an orange blotch on throat and on lower opercular border; a darkish lateral streak in life. Total length 72 millim.
