James Bryant Conant, American Chemist
James Bryant Conant, (March 26, 1893 - February 11, 1978) was a chemist, educational administrator, and government official. He was also the second scientist in 293 years to be chosen president of Harvard. 40 years old, a professor of organic chemistry, Conant had been named by the corporation to be successor of President Lowell.
