She is still living on part ofthe old homestead, at 1700 Western subject of this sketch was born in Min-neapolis, January 5, 1859. He enjoyed theadvantages of a liberal education. His earlyeducational training was received in the dis-trict and public schools of Minneapolis, suj)-plemented by attendance at St. Johns Col-lege at Prairie du Chien.
