This bridge must have been built some timebefore the date 1224, as between the years 1224 and 1242—the periodof Bishop Andrew Morays episcopate—Bishop Andrew granted acharter (without date) to Robert Fyndoc, the Laird or Feuar of Kelleys—granting that half davock of land which Archibold of Inverlochtyheld of the Bishop in feu of Spynie ; . . by the same marchesby which the said Archibold held (possessed) it—to wit, from thenearest cundos (or brae) on the east side of the bridge, which the saidArchibold constructed over the Lossy and on the east side of theSankathell towards Cranfinleth.
