Following its division, the free ends of the divided vas deferens are sutured (stitched). The vas deferens is the duct that connects the testis (left) to the seminal vesicle and urethra. Post vasectomy, therefore, the semen released at ejaculation is devoid of sperm. Vasectomy of both ducts produces sterility without affecting sexual desire or potency.
