AUSTRIA - 1916 September 28: 5 heller green postage stamp depicting Imperial Crown of Austria, which was previously used by the monarchs of the Habsburg monarchy. The crown was made in 1602 by Jan Vermeyen as the personal crown of Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II, and also known as the Crown of Emperor Rudolf II. In 1804 it became the official crown of the newly constituted Austrian Empire. After 1867 it remained the imperial crown of the Cisleithanian part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Austria, is a country in the southern part of Central Europe, lying in the Eastern Alps. It is a federation of nine states, one of which is the capital, Vienna, the most populous city and state.
