The grade on the approacheseach of which is 184 feet in length, is 6 per cent., andthe central portion is level. The tunnel has 14 feet 6inches headroom, and is 18 feet in width in the sides and approaches are constructed of blue stone. Theroadway over the tunnel forming part of the Parkwayis supported by 15-inch steel I beams with spring archeson which the concrete of road is laid. The company has provided at all points where theline crosses a steam road derailing switches and signalswhich interlock with the steam railway signals so thatthe possibility of a collision is reduced to a arrangement is shown in Fig. 2. The closed cars, Fig. 5,which the company is operatingon its line were built by the John Stephenson Companyof New York. They are mounted on Dupont trucksmade by the Johnson Company, and equipped with motorsfurnished by the Steel Motor Company of Cleveland.
