SILVEB KING, WIS. NO. 7. Our Seed Corn is all grown from carefully selected pedi- greed stock. 'SILVER KING—(Wis. No. 7)—Wisconsin Grown. This Corn was originally obtained by the "Wisconsin Experiment Station from Northern Iowa, and by a careful selection of the best and earliest ears we now have a "White "Dent Corn with large ears, small cob and deep kernels, that is suited to our "Wisconsin conditions. The ears of this Corn average 8 to 9 inches in length, and are always well filled out to the tips. As a yielder it has no superior. A few years ago 275 members of the Wisconsin Experiment Association reported an average yield for this Corn of 10 bushels per acre more than any other sort. The same year Prof. Moore of the Wisconsin Experiment Station reported a yield of 75 bushels per acre of it, and since then yields of over 90 bushels have been reported. These are remarkable yields when taking into consideration that the average crop of Corn in "Wisconsin is only about 35 bushels per acre. This Corn was secured by the Wisconsin Experi- ment Station from Prof. Hays of the Minnesota Ex- periment Station in 1902, as Minnesota No. 13, and is an improved strain of that excellent sort. It is noted for its early maturity, and can be depended on to ripen anywhere in "Wisconsin, or in the same lati- tude in other states, and is especially adapted for the lake shore counties and Northern "Wisconsin, where the seasons are too cool and short for Silver King and other large sorts, and where, during the past few sea- sons, it has been grown in large quantities and has shown its great value as a
