Marugame seimen restaurant, Bangkok. When Marugame Seimen began operations in Japan in 2005, its goal was simple - to bring the legendary Sanuki Udon noodles to a wider audience both in Japan and abroad. Using only Japanese wheat flour and special machines in every shop, Marugame Seimen standardized the process of making perfectly boiled, fresh udon so that it could be replicated and exported. The experience of fine udon was suddenly transformed into an affordable and easy meal for the masses. Expanding to almost 700 stores in just four years, Marugame Seimen is now Japan’s number-one udon brand, and has since entered the Thai market in partnership with Boutique, its first overseas partner. With seven restaurants already opened in retail hotspots including some of Bangkok’s major commercial malls, Thailand is already the country with the most branches of Marugame Seimen outside Japan. We continue to expand rapidly to capitalize on our initial success with the brand
