Between 1961 and 1963 a Symposium of European Sculptors, initiated by Ausrian sculptor, Karl Prantl, created 18 stone sculptures, as a protest against the Berlin Wall. In the western part of the Platz der Republik, between the Reichstag and New German Chancellery. The artworks have been incorporated into later improvements to the park landscape.
