Ventral produced into a filament, reaching beyond origin of anal in adult. Caudal rounded. Caudal peduncle deeper than long. Scales cycloid, Fig. PeJynatacliromis ocellifer. Brownish with five rather indistinct dark bars, which may be replaced by a series of dark blotches on the side; a black opercular spot; a dark, sometimes light-edged spot at the base of the dorsal, between the spinous and soft portions; soft dorsal with light spots.
