I stopped then, just at the corner of Lauder Street andHigh Street, about two or three hundred yards from thehouse. He stood facing me, with the stone that he hadnot thrown in his hand raised up ready to throw. I hadthe pistol pointing right at him. I said, If you throwthat stone, you are a dead man. By that time Barneycame up. I said, Barney, grab that fellow by his shirtcollar, not by his coat collar — he will slip out of he tries to hurt you, I will shoot
