Making nylon. A thread of nylon being pulled from a dish. In the dish is a layer of decanedioyl dichloride in cyclohexane floating on an aqueous solution of hexane-1,6-diamine. Nylon forms at the interface between the two, with more nylon formed as the thread is pulled away.
