This charger is an excellent example of the high-quality works produced there, in this case painted by Jean Francois Pelloquin, one of the finest painters at the manufactory. The lively and inventive nature of the decoration is particularly engaging, appropriate for an item made for use during the dessert course where it would provide visual stimulation for guests at the apex of a formal meal.
