'The Works'_ Black Friday has become the biggest shopping day of the year, when retailers knock prices across much of their stock to kick-start the gift-buying season, to coincide with the month end pay check. The event has started to take a rather liberal understanding of "Friday", however, with many retailers launching the offers days before or even throughout the week. This year, some merchants have already kicked off their shop deals labelling the event Black Friday Week.
