In Youatt, is an account by Mr. Conyers, of Epping, who, in the year 1788, kept a dairy of them. "He preferred the Devons on account of their large produce, Avhether in milk, butter, or by suckling. He thought that they held their milk longer than any other sort that he had tried; that they Avere liable to fewer disorders in their udders; and being of small size, they did not eat more than half what larger cows consumed. He thus sums up his account of them: ' Upon an average, ten cows gave me sixty pounds of butter per week, in summer, and twenty-four.
