Vintage illustration depicting the famous 1860 bare-knuckle fight between Tom Sayers (1826 - 1865), Champion of England, and American Champion John C Heenan (1834 - 1873). The bout between Sayers, known as "The Brighton Boy", and Heenan, nicknamed "The Benicia Boy", is regarded as the first ever "world championship" battle in boxing.
