The medulla and a portion of the cord were removed prior to the cutting of the mesial section and the block was (Mnbedded in parathn; sections M micra thick wen^ made and stained in liematoxylin-cosin. In an anophthalmic pig descrii)ed liy Duckworth ('1)8) the Wcigcrt method showed the tracts as clearly as in tiie control. Duckworth tiiinks this a strong sujiport for the tiieory of the laying down of ti\e pyramidal tracts in situ.
