GULF OF ADEN (July 14, 2015) Marine Lance Cpl. Tyler Knotts dons his gas mask before firing an M240B machine gun at targets on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Knotts is a machine gunner with Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
