Shanti Stupa was built by the Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura and inaugurated in 1991. It is a pilgrimage site for housing sacred relics of the Buddha and it's hilltop location is also popular with tourists for it's panoramic views of the surrounding landscape
