East face of cross-head on C14th churchyard cross at St Michael's church, Trelawnyd, Flintshire, Wales, UK, showing a Crucixion scene with Christ on the cross & two mourners in a cinquefoil/cusped niche. Figure bottom L probably the Blessed Virgin Mary, but figure bottom R (usually St John) is badly damaged. The four-faced head sits on an octagonal chamfered capital, the tapering chamfered shaft is of weathered reddish sandstone. Overall height = Typical example of the Vale of Clwyd group of churchyard crosses, other examples include Llanrhydd, Derwen & Hanmer.
