THE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. The Executive Committee of the NationalAmateur Skating Association entrusted themanagement of this years championship meet-ing to Mr. W. H. Robertson, the sole survivingmember of the Outing Athletic Club, havingentire confidence in his honesty and ability tobring off the meeting in a proper manner ; andthe result shows that their trust was not mis-placed. In a climate like that of New York,where there is no assurance of to-days ice last-ing till to-morrow, or that there will be any iceon any given day named a week in advance, itis not easy to advertise a championship skatingmeeting and bring it off in strict accordancewith the schedule. The weather this year wasrather more annoying than usual, and that themeeting was finally carried out with only twopostponements and only one change of placereflects great credit on Mr. Robertsons execu-tive ability and perseverance.
