Philip Sievers, educated thepromising boy, who graduated from Goettin-gen LTniversity in 1838. After teaching schoolfor three years, he studied theology at theuniversities of Berlin and Halle, taught forthree years more to accumulate a little fund ofhis own, and in 1847 was ordained for theLutheran ministry.
