On account of the large number of trees on the roads and because the roadwayswere ver\- crooked in this district, it was decided to build this line largely crosscountn,- paralleling the riglit-of-way of the Canadian Xational Railways. Polerights with right of entry on properties were purchased; the average price being$4 per pole. The line is generally located 12 to 16 feet from the right-of-wayfence so as to provide conveniently for the turning of a headland between the poleand the fence.
