It was felt, however, that, contrary to its second foundersintentions, the establishment had ceased to be a centre of diocesaninterests, and accordingly one of the first cares of Bishop Burton on hisaccession to the See of Clifton was to bring it into close touch with theDiocese by resuming its immediate direction and 4
