CPO Selectees compete for the title of the Best Mess during a cadence and guidon competition during the 18th Annual CPO Heritage Days. Seated in the front row is Retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, Duane R. Bushey (left) and Retired Fleet Master Chief Thomas "Boats" Howard. This annual event is hosted by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, in conjunction with local Chief Petty Officers and Nauticus. This year’s event was held on August 21-23, 2018, and attracted over 840 CPO selectees from 58 area and out of state commands.
