As Ilooked over the edge of the nest therewas Mrs. Osprey standing up on thenest with out stretched wings readyfor flight. Fortunately for me she was•standing with her head away fromme so I pulled a stick out of the nestand hit her on the hack and she flewaway but returned again, so I gaveher a crack on the head. She flewaway and came back again and gotanother crack, repeated the same per-formance five times before I got in aposition to reach over the top. ThenI made a quick get away as
