Water Buffalo at Cape Gloucester. Out of the sea from its lair aboard a Coast Guard-manned transport, the water buffalo invades the beaches of Cape Gloucester during the invasion the invasion which gave American forces a strong grip of the western end of New Britain Island. This amphibious tractor is used to pull heavy fighting equipment through the surf from landing craft.
