Panoramic view at the Millenium Cathedral and Moskva River from Kolomenskoye in Moscow, Russia

Kolomenskoye is a former royal estate situated several miles to the south-east of Moscow downtown, on the ancient road leading to the town of Kolomna (hence the name). The scenic area which overlooks the steep banks of the Moskva River became a part of Moscow in the 1960s. In the front there is a cruise ships that leaves from Kolomenskoye and that sails at regular intervals along the Moskva River. In the back one can see a cathedral with a blue dome that was built to commemorate 1000 years of Russian Orthodoxy.
