Fruit larger and stems longer than White Grape. The fruit sugar and acid are blended without ex- cess of either. Regular pruning every year is essential for the production of fine fruit. The English varieties especially do best in partial shade and should be heavily mulched. To prevent mildew spray bushes soon as leaves appear and several times during the summer with potassium sulphide (liver of sulphur) one ounce to four gallons of water. ENGLISH VARIETIES. Crown Bob—Large, roundish oval; red, hairy, of first Keepsake—Fruit very large, straw-colored, of excel- lent flavor; carries well to market.
