Arthur Coolidge, of Cambridge, Mass., is cutting very good chrysan- themums, . Bonnaffon, Well's Pink, White Eaton and John Shrimpton. His carnations this year are much better than preceding years, as he broug'ht soil from his farm at Lexington to re- place the run-out soil at his Cambridge range. Pompons seem to be more popular this year than ever before. Consider- ing the quantity grown and the dull season, they sold exceptionally well. Among the best selling varieties are Mrs. Frank Beau, white and yellow Menza, Diana, Jules Lagravere, Buck- ingham and Baby. E. Hutchinson of Lexington, Mass., is shipping a fine lot of Major Bon- naffon at present. The flowers are run three or four to a plant and are a good commercial size. Frank Dolansky, of Lynn, Mass., is cutting very fine Cattleya Percivaliana at present. They seem to be very pop- ular and not much trouble is found in disposing of them. W. A. Riggs, of Auburndale, Mass., is suffering from neuralgia and a gen- eral breakdown. He is improving slowly and is anxious to get back "into the ; , Sam Bornstein, who conducts a flow- er store on Canal street, was burned out November 25.
